Doctor's appointment today for our little guy and we are at 1 1/2 cm to 2 cm and still e-faced about 50-60%. Dr. Ohlhausen thinks we will hold out another week or 2--so that makes us right on schedule.
We had a wonderful, relaxing and quiet Christmas and are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with the Heits family this weekend, since we were snowed in last weekend. Kelly is back to work on Monday and Danica will have to get back into her routine of Mimi's and the babysitters too--she has become quite fond of her Daddy over the last week and 1/2.

Baby Boy.....and Danica too!

We had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday afternoon, we are now on weekly visits (which is hard to believe) and everything is still going really great. Our little man is due in about 3 weeks but I am dialated 1cm and am 60% efaced so we will just see if we can make it the full 3 weeks. Kelly started his Christmas break on Tuesday afternoon and just completed the first phase of his "teacher test" on Monday morning, he has one more phase to complete and is hoping to get that done in March.
Danica recently discovered bagels---dry, not toasted : )

The three (almost 4) of us wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Ho Ho Ho!

First Snowman!

Danica and her Daddy have been able to spend the last couple of days home together and managed to make it outside on Tuesday, Wednesday was way too cold....burrrrr, and make a snowman and have a little sled ride. The three of us headed to Liberty on Wednesday evening for Danica's 18 month check up and last round of shots until she's 5, and then we met the Heits family for dinner to celebrate Madelynn's first birthday. Danica was 34 1/8 inches long (>95%) and 25 pounds 8 ounces (50-75%). Dr. John thought everything was great and Miss Danica was awesome through the appointment and shots. Toddler bed adventure is still going great!

18 Months Old

Danica is 18 months old and she has successfully graduated to her "big girl room." We moved her in on Friday night and she has slept through the night throughout the weekend. So we will keep our fingers crossed that she continues to do such a great job. She loves her room and if you get her up there, it may be a time before she come back down.

Danica's 18 month check up is Wednesday, we will be sure to post her "stats." She is getting over one heck of a cold that began Thursday night and seems to be getting better. She loves her daily fix of Elmo and Abby and was thrilled tonight with the Elmo and Abby Christmas special. Pictures with Santa were last weekend, she wasn't too impressed with the "big guy."

As far as her baby brother goes, all is still well, we begin our every other week check ups next week and are busy preparing the nursery for the arrival of a little boy---no signs of pink at the moment.

The Green house becomes the "greenhouse"

While the picture didn't turn out the greatest, the transformation is wonderful. We have been very pleased with the face lift on our house.

17 Months

17 months old and going strong! Check it out---mommy pulled off getting the pig tails in, and they stayed in until nap time : )

BOO!

We had a great Halloween. Danica was a great trick or treater and enjoyed all of the visits to the house by all the other ghouls and goblins. She was a bit heartbroken today when the decorations came down, especially the witch that stood at the bottom of our staircase.

28 weeks and some change.

Baby boy doing great. Had a doctor's appointment today. His heartbeat was 148 and measured 29 cm. Doctor states everything was just perfect!

Fall Fun!

The Green family tackled a few fall chores over the weekend, and managed to play a little too! Really Daddy did all the work and Danica and Mommy did a lot of playing. Daddy did take a break to play some football though : )

Pumpkin Patch Adventure!

Kelly and I took the afternoon off on Tuesday and took Danica to Carolyn's Country Cousins, a fabulous pumpkin patch and more, just outside of Liberty, MO. We had so much fun and it was the perfect day for picking a pumpkin. Danica enjoyed every part of visit--especially all of the animals!

What's for dinner?

What better way to pass the time than playing in a pot?

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!

You've got it, one of our newest words is ice cream, and it is priceless. No doubt this kiddo belongs to Kelly and I, she does love her "I ceam!"

We celebrated Ethan's 10th birthday over the weekend with a little party at the Family Life Center here in town. You would have never known that Danica was the only girl amongst so many 4th and 5th grade boys--she had a blast: chowing on cake, riding the "bike", playing basketball and dodge ball. We had a great time and I think the boys did too!
We are excited that Kelly's last junior high football game was last night, and they won! Now he will be home to eat dinner with us and spend some time playing.

16 Months Old

It is nice to know that even a 16 month old can have a bad hair day. It is a bit hard to tell but Danica woke this morning with the most atrocious case of "bed head." I couldn't even get it to tame after 2 bouts with water and a brush. Needless to say, it was going to just have to be a bad hair day. It doesn't bother her, so why should it bother me : ) However, I did post a pic of my first real attempt at fixing her hair in a "pig tail" just so you know I do try.

Danica is still the vivacious little creature we brought home from the hospital 16 months ago and is so very intelligent. We have added so many words to our vocabulary, some of my personal favorites being "animal, Dora, and the no, no, no, with the finger shake" at the cat when his is perched by her high chair at dinner. She has officially named her Grammy Dorcas, as of Monday, MiMi, and it is too cute to hear her talk about her MiMi and PaPa. Fits them just perfect!

Danica is loving going to Janae's 2 days a week and is getting along great! She has learned to take her own pants off, now all we have to tackle is stacking more than 2 blocks : )

I am feeling pretty good, tired most of the time and feeling a little chubby. Kelly and I are busy, well I am busy, compiling the fall/winter "to do" list and it only seems overwhelming--now if we can only get the items accomplished before January : )

All in an afternoon with mom....

Danica and I got to spend the afternoon together and after we got a few errands out of the way it was home to play inside---since some much needed rain dampened any outdoor plans. By far the hit of the afternoon was none other than a cardboard box Danica's diapers had been delivered in. We climbed in and out, shot baskets, played hide and seek and colored the silly thing. So much fun!

15 Month Check up....

and shots : (.
Danica and I traveled to Liberty yesterday afternoon for her 15 month check up with Dr. John. She did great, as usual and Dr. John was thrilled with her development. Danica was 32 1/2 inches tall (>100th percentile) and weighed in at 23 lbs 14 ozs (50-75th percentile). She handled the shots okay, this time the nurse had me lay her down on the table and hold her top half while she held her legs and did the shots as opposed to in the past when I held her in my lap with her head away from me. This time she was looking right into my eyes. Talk about breaking your heart.
Things have been extremely busy otherwise around our house with Football practice, meetings and work in general but we did enjoy a nice weekend with the Snyder's from Denver and the Heits family. It was great to see everyone and watch all of the girls interact.

It's a BOY!

Kelly and I were thrilled during our ultrasound on Friday to find out Danica will be a big sister to a little brother. He is about 12 ounces and is right on schedule for his January arrival. His ultrasound profile resembles Danica alot--that picture not included, the one that is does not look a thing like Danica : )

Lakers Weekend

We really enjoyed our Laker weekend with the DeWitte's, Gregory's and Gagnon's. Great food, great place to crash and super company! Danica didn't dig the lake near as much as she likes the pool but none the less she enjoyed getting wet and playing outside with Jake and Max. She just wasn't a fan of the life jacket---it took her straight into a back float!

Danica has a molar coming in at that moment, but doesn't seem too phased by it.

She is talking more and more and loves to jabber jibberish, which we get a great laugh out of. Kelly has been back to work now a full week and started school with kiddos on Wednesday. It is great to see those little people walking into a new building---very exciting to see it complete!

Baby Bean #2

The Green family met August 7, 2009 with some sadness. My Granny, Martha Morgan, passed away overnight, she was 84 years old and a phenomenal human being. She had become known as GiGi since becoming a great grandmother and leaves behind a legacy for all of us to remember.
On a better note, we did get to hear our little babies heartbeat again today and it was 144. Everything is great and progressing nicely. Kelly and I were excited to schedule our next appointment which will be the sonogram and is taking place on August 28th!
Danica is officially off the bottle her bedtime bottle is gone and it was the grand finale last night. No problems at all, she is such a trooper!

14 Months Old...

I know I say it every time but it is completely hard to believe that Danica is 14 months old. She has truly enjoyed this summer and recently got her very first golf club and when she is on the green at the golf course deposits her golf ball in the cup---the girl gets the game! She is saying more and more everyday and watch out she will mimimick anything you do. Some of her newest words are Ally, Blythe, light and hide. Danica still loves to dance and especially spin until she falls over, which has lead to a few headers into the couch or coffee table. Another one of her favorite pass times is swimming in her little plastic pool or playing in her sand box. Now, as you can see in the picture, Danica is playing bare butt in her swimming pool, this is normally not the case. When playing outside in the sandbox she decided to take her bucket and proceed to dump water over her head, so mom made the decision to just strip her down and let her go to town.
This past month we purchased a frog potty to hopefully start getting excited about using the "big girl potty," it is just a goal for before baby #2 arrives, we will see. However, on Sunday , I could tell she was getting ready to poop so I asked her if she wanted to use the potty, she shook her head yes so off to the potty we went, she sat for a minute before wanting down, and sure enough just a little waste in the bowl. We were excited! I have to be honest though, the frog potty has been used more as a step stool to get to things she isn't suppose to have then it has been a potty. : )
Danica is weaning herself from her only remaining bottle, which is before bed, she has now gone 4 nights in a row completely uninterested in it---I guess I might just quit trying.
Baby Green #2 doctor's appointment tomorrow, we will fill you in!

Lions and Tigers and NO Bears...Oh My!

The Green family met the Heits family at the KC Zoo on Saturday for Madelynn and Danica's first zoo experience. Both girls were exceptional and Brian and Kelly behaved too! We had a great day checking out ALL of the animals, except bears, not one bear to speak of--how crazy is that? One of the best moments was visiting the chimpanzees, there were a lot of them and the little baby chimpanzee came right up to the glass where Danica and Kelly were sitting and looked in too cute! It was also fun for Danica to feed a deer and a sheep. She has recently learned to Baa like a sheep so it was cool to hear the real deal.

1st listen at baby's heartbeat!

We had a doctor's appointment on the 8th and got to hear baby Green's heartbeat for the first time, it was 164! Very strong---very good news. We were in hopes of finding out the gender at our August appointment but it looks like they are going to want to wait until the September since I will just be 16 weeks and some change in August. The said we could make a special appointment and come back a couple of weeks just for an ultrasound, but at this point I think we will let him/her ride until the September appointment and may be they will cooperate beautifully!
Danica is great and for the first time on Sunday put two words together "Hi Kitty Cat!" She loves that cat.....

13 Months Old

We are officially out of vacation mode.....unfortunately it is back to work tomorrow. Danica will get to hang with her daddy atleast for the next month before he has to go back to work, and then vacation is really over. We had a great weekend, we got to see Blythe and Brian's new house in K.C. and visit a bit with them, played outside alot on Sunday and visited daddy at the golf course (he played in a tournament all weekend). Danica is 13 months old today and going strong!

Big Surprise!

Pink or Blue we aren't for sure but date we know is true. Kelly, Danica and I are excited to announce that our family is growing in January 2010...we are expecting baby #2. I am 12 weeks, feeling great, now that I am getting used to the idea, and looking forward to August when we find out what we are having. We will keep everyone posted!

Back from vacation!

A vacation is always a wonderful adventure, but it is especially nice when your feet hit your home turf once again. We had a fabulous time at the beach in Destin with the Snyder, Heits, Hatfield crews and only wish we could do it more often. The beach house was wonderful, weather perfect and the company even better! The beach was followed up with a trip to see GiGi in Tennessee, and that is always a peaceful getaway. Danica had a ton of fun in Aunt Mary Boone and Uncle Henry's pool, caught up on some good sleep and got to hang out with the Morgan/Dunaway family's on our last night before heading home. Everyone was great and we had so much fun! If you want to check out our vacation album, here is the link....

Well Baby....

Danica's 1 year well baby check was this evening and Dr. John has given her the healthy blessing. She was 31 inches long (95th percentile) and 22 pounds 11 ounces (75-95th percentile). She did have to get 3 shots, but was absolutely wonderful, I think she might have cried for 30 seconds tops and on the way home peeled her own band-aids off. After her appointment we went to grab a bite to eat at Chipotle, she had never been there before, but loved it. She was like a baby bird in a nest with her mouth perched open waiting for either the black beans and rice or the guacamole to come swooping in. She is a rock star! Such a joy to be around and a pure pleasure to call mine : )

Danica is 1!

It is completely hard to believe that our little girl is one, but she is and she had the best birthday! She was so happy all day and we topped the day off with a bar-b-que with close friends and family. Tatum and Danica enjoyed her new pool, and boy did it come in handy when it was time to wash off cake. Danica also got a sandbox from mommy and daddy and that was a hit as well. We chowed on some hot dogs, opened presents and then dug into the cake, which was an exact replica of Danica's birthday invites, it was extremely yummy and Danica enjoyed. Danica got so many great gifts, we got the most amazing scrapbook of Danica's first year from the Whitt's (it made me tear right up), and truly enjoyed all of the well wishes, visitors and fun of the day. I wish I could post all of her pictures....but a few will have to do.

First Trip to the Swimming Pool!

Danica took her first trip to the local swimming pool this afternoon and loved it! The whole family went, including our nephew Ethan and we met up with The Whitt's there. Danica is definately going to be our outside child. She continuously points outside when she is in her high chair and could not get enough of the swimming pool, she even got her face wet a couple of times. We can't wait for the beach!
